🎠Meadow Brook Elementary Drama Club
About the Program
The Meadow Brook Elementary Drama Club is one of the most exciting student programs at MBE! Each year, students work together to bring a full musical production to life while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
Under the direction of MBE Music Teacher, Mrs. Niki Rose, students experience all aspects of putting on a show — from acting and singing on stage to working behind the scenes.
Student Participation
Drama Club is open to students in grades 3–5.
Each year:
-
60+ students participate in the cast
-
Students audition for roles in February
-
Every student who auditions is offered a part
-
An additional 20+ students participate on stage crew
Students rehearse songs, choreography, and scenes while learning valuable skills like teamwork, responsibility, and stage presence.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals typically run March through early May.
-
Rehearsals are held twice per week after school
-
During the two weeks leading up to the show, rehearsals take place daily to prepare for performances
Behind the Scenes
Producing a musical takes a village! In addition to performing, students and volunteers help bring the show to life through:
-
Set design and construction
-
Lighting
-
Sound
-
Props
-
Costumes
-
Backstage coordination
With over 80 students involved between the cast and crew, Drama Club is truly a community effort supported by dedicated staff and amazing adult volunteers.
